The hair and face saga

As promised, mummy brought me to Junior League on friday to salvage what is left of my hair. Since popo cut the front so short in the first place, the aunty there had no choice but to cut it short all around. Hope my hair will grow out decently and I will look like my usual handsome self by CNY. I have a reputation to maintain, you know?

I actually have a rash on my face here. Can you see? My fever went down on Thursday but a rash erupted all over my body and face and my eyes turned puffy. Daddy and mummy were so worried. They brought me to the Kid's Clinic on Friday morning but my usual Doc was not in so I had to see the other one. She said it could be a viral rash or a drug allergy cos of my puffy eyes. I got some antihistamines and now I'm much better. Luckily, the doc says the rash will not leave any scars so my handsome face will be good as new in 3 to 5 days' time. Hee!!!

My first bad hair day.

When I reached home from popo's place tonight, mummy got a shock when she opened the door. My hair was getting pretty long and was getting into my eyes. Mummy had no time to bring me to Junior League because of school. Finally, popo cannot tahan anymore and decided to take matters into her own hands. She trimmed my hair for me!!! I ended up with an uneven cut and mummy has no choice now but to bring me to the professionals to do some damage control. She has promised to bring me to Junior League on Friday... hehehe...

Sick!!!

Gerald has been sick since Monday. He has a fever and is very clingy, crying for every little thing. The doctor said it might be a throat infection. Poor thing... We gave him lots of hugs and kisses and pray he gets well soon.

Look, they stuck this cooling gel onto my forehead! It's so uncomfortable, I have to keep wriggling my eyebrows.

Trip to the Zoo

We brought Gerald to the zoo on Christmas day. It was his first time in the zoo and he saw many animals. However, he seemed to be more interested in walking and looking at the floor for things to step on. His favourite is to walk up and down slopes and stairs. Once we let him up a flight of stairs, he'll want to turn right back to walk down the stairs. Thus our progress through the zoo was pretty slow when he insisted on walking. He fell asleep in his stroller half way through the zoo and we ended up photographing the animals instead of Gerald.

Hey! Let's go over there!

Christmas Morning

Christmas is a most wonderful season for little ones as they get lots of presents. Even though Gerald is not old enough to ask for specific toys and be excited about the whole business of presents, we can tell from the number and size of the boxes addressed to him under the Christmas tree that he is our little precious son. There were also gifts for him from popo and gonggong, auntie rachel, the neighbour and other church friends. Take a look at the amount of his gifts!!!

A photo with mummy by our tree on Christmas morning.

Daddy is opening Gerald's presents for him.

Gerald surrounded by his new toys, wondering which one to play with first.

Of course, Christmas is not only about presents. So we the Seng family would like to wish all who visit this blog a very blessed Christmas. May love, joy and peace be with you today and throughout 2006!!!

More Christmas Deco

Mummy brought me out for one last round of Christmas photography on Friday cos Daddy didn't have to work that day. We went to the Christmas fair outside Taka and the World of Narnia outside Orchard MRT station.

While the women of Bethlehem drew water at the well, I was posing with mummy.

While shepherds watched their flocks by night, I was struggling to get down from mummy's arms.

Away in the manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head.
Daddy and I was blocking the little baby Jesus. :P

Do the 3 of us look like the 3 wise men from the east who came bearing gifts for the baby Jesus?

I got a balloon but they tied it to my shirt. That's my Yehyeh (daddy's father) with me.

Bed Hogger

Gerald doesn't like to sleep and will usually protest a lot before being captured and put to bed.

Waah!!! Help me... I don't want to sleep yet!!!

Quick, quick... Let me try to escape.

Gerald prefers to fall asleep in Mummy and Daddy's bed at night. He loves to sleep beside mummy and use her as a bolster. Even if he is half-asleep, he must keep one hand or leg in contact with mummy and will cry if mummy tries to move away.

Sometimes, mummy and daddy will allow him to sleep the whole night on their bed, because he is soft and warm to hug and he has a nice, sweet baby smell. But most of the time, once Gerald is sound asleep, they will put him back in his own cot. The main reason is he hogs the bed and sleep with his arms and legs in all directions! He can sleep vertically, horzontally, and turn 360 degress in his sleep, often kicking and smacking mummy and daddy through the night if he sleeps in their bed.

Sound asleep and ready to be moved back to his cot. Heheheh ;-)

Why we celebrate Christmas

Phebe sent me this link and I thought it is quite funny. All our hokkien-speaking (with English subtitles) friends will enjoy this.

At the same time, it reminds me why we celebrate Christmas, as individuals and as a family. Christmas is ultimately not about Christmas trees, shopping, singing carols, and eating big turkey dinners. It is to remember Christ's birth.

Even as we count down to Gerald's second Christmas, I pray that he will grow up to understand the true meaning of the celebrations. We can only teach him so much and expose him to the "correct" things, in our point of view, but it is really up to him to find Jesus for himself. I also pray that God will watch over him day by day, and the Holy Spirit guard his heart, until he accepts Christ as his Lord and Saviour. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

More Christmas Lights

Mummy seems determined to get me photographed at all the Christmas decorations in Orchard Road. See the results of our latest outing.

The start of our journey from Sengkang.

See me struggling with mummy?

Sigh! How long is she going to take? But I must admit this is a very big Christmas tree...

By the time we reached the Post Office, mummy is on her own!

Cos I'm already fast asleep in my stroller!!!

On the way home on the MRT, daddy distrurbed me and woke me up. I cried and screamed until we reached Sengkang in protest for being woken up so rudely. Heheheh...

Birthday Celebration

We went to celebrate daddy's birthday belatedly on Saturday (10 Dec). Mummy brought us to this nice cafe at Wheelock Place called the Big-O Cafe. They even had a nice kiddy menu for me and they gave me crayons to play with while we waited for the food.

Service not bad.... I got my own menu...

Hmmm.... wonder what shall I order?

Tsk tsk.... I ended up with a biscuit while mummy and daddy had nice food. No fair!

Poor me eating the biscuit. Actually it didn't taste that bad. Mummy gave me some of her chicken and daddy gave me some of his mash potatoes too.

Thay say I look more and more like Daddy as I grow older. Do you agree?

Haiz... why do mummy and daddy like to make me take pictures? But we look nice as a family, don't we?

Christmas Lights II

Mummy brought Gerald to Takashimaya to continue soaking up the Christmas spirit. He is as usual uncooperative when it came to photo-taking.

On the way in the MRT... Gerald sat still for half the way and screamed for the other half. He insisted on getting out of his stroller to 'walk' around the carriage.

At the entrance of Takashimaya. Gerald: "Waaah!!!! So many presents! I wonder if mummy will buy anything for me..."

That's mummy forcing Gerald to take a picture with her.

Having dinner at Delifrance. Gerald liked the bread but hated the tuna mayo... Haha!

Christmas lights

We brought Gerald out to Orchard Road to see the Christmas decorations two weeks ago. He is not really into photo taking as usual... but here are some of the better shots.

Library Member

I went to the brand new national library along Bras Basah yesterday. It was my second time there. The place is so big. I had a good time crawling around the children's section and pulling books off the shelves even though mummy kept telling me I'm supposed to keep quite in the library.

Mummy registered me as a member of the National Library. She hopes that I will grow up with a good reading habit and has been reading to me regularly. Now I even have my very own library card!

Since it was the year end recruitment drive for the library, I even got a book bag when I borrowed 4 books on the spot. Now I have my own bag to carry to the library every week.

Yeh!!!

Learning to walk

Gerald has been learning how to walk on his own. He has been cruising for some time now but he is still scared to let go of mummy's hands. He has been trying to walk unassisted lately. Now he can dash about 1 metre between Mummy and Imah. Sometimes he walks steadily, sometimes he just runs and flies into our arms, sometimes he staggers and sits down in between. Whatever the case, the clever boy ensures that he doesn't get hurt. If in doubt, he just plonks his bum on the floor and reverts to the old trusty skill of crawling. Hee Hee!
